Great Eastern Cares: Zoo NegaraWatch the video below to see how our day at the zoo went!---The day unfolded with the crisp scent of anticipation as our colleagues gathered round bright and early to go to the National Zoo of Malaysia. Clad in matching bright red shirts adorned with a (literal) heart on our chest, we were a team on a mission. Armed with rubber boots, rakes, and wheelbarrows, we got to work at a living, breathing sanctuary. Our team of 85 volunteers were split up into three groups - one to tend to the reptiles, one to the carnivores, and one to upkeep and tidy the public areas. Among the volunteers were Chief Agency Distribution Officer Ken Yong Koh, Financial Controller Liew Loon Hue, and the Head of Agency Support Ken Ng.In between our corporate-led volunteering initiatives, we experienced breaks that provided us with the freedom to explore the zoo! These moments of respite allowed us to appreciate the broader impact of our corporate involvement, fostering a sense of connection with the vibrant ecosystems we were actively supporting.Thank you to Zoo Negara Malaysia for coordinating with us to make this happen, and thank you to all Great Eastern volunteers for joining us for this programme! We hope you had a blast. This marks our last CSR programme for the year! 2023 has been nothing short of inspiring and productive, and we can't wait to see what other GREAT projects are in store for us in 2024!#GreatEasternMY #mygreatculture #greateasterncares #zoonegara

February marks my second month with the Junior Achievement of Southern California team, and I am overjoyed to be part of such an impactful organization! 🎉 I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible hiring team, including Crystal Boutiette, Abigail Whilden, Britt Vaughan, Katiuska Delgado Kirkwood, Susan Sagheb, and Les McCabe, for entrusting me with the opportunity to contribute to your vision of empowering underserved students, a cause that resonates deeply with me ✨ Growing up in Indonesia, I witnessed firsthand the shortcomings of the education system, particularly in areas like financial literacy. Despite living in the world's fourth-largest consumer market, it was evident that crucial topics, such as money, were taboo, leaving many young individuals ill-equipped for the realities of adulthood. Reflecting on my own experiences, I wish I had a mentor to guide me through the intricacies of managing money, which would better prepare me for financial responsibilities post-college.While we cannot change the past, we can certainly shape the future by addressing the loopholes in our education. Junior Achievement (JA) plays a pivotal role in this endeavor, focusing on fostering financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurial skills in children aged five to 25. Through innovative programs such as JA Finance Park, JA Day, and JA Inspire, we provide immersive financial literacy simulation, high-impact lessons, and career exploration opportunities that inspire and equip young people to succeed in the global economy. If you believe in the boundless potential of young people, we are in the same boat! Join us on this transformative journey by following us on social media or even becoming a volunteer. Remember, change starts small, and it can begin with you. Together, let's empower the next generation for success! 👩🎓 👨🎓 ℹ Volunteer registration: https://lnkd.in/gpEGSU_z or email Audrey Del Prete at adelprete@jasocal.org#JASoCal #JuniorAchievement #educationforall #educationequity #financialliteracymatters #financialliteracy #workreadiness #entrepreneurship

IMPACTO Sdn Bhd | Certified B Corporation It's first grassroots project was designed and delivered in line with the four key principles of transformative CSR or CSR2.0 Prof. Wayne Visser. Happy to see that over the past 5 years, the community members not only owned the solution, but also helped propagate it to surrounding communities, catalysing bigger impact. Why AirKu? To champion a global issue in local context where communities didnt have basic human rights due to water scarcity- right to health, decent livelihood, education and quality of lifeWhy Indonesia? To gain more value per dollar of investment, when the direct beneficiaries of the whole value remained members of the community (zero funds channeled to admin costs or to finance operations of an implementation partner)Why community as key partners? To have highest level of commitment, where community members who faced water crisis needed no additional motivation to drive the project to successWhy IMPACTO launched this? To demonstrate 1) we do not always need deep pockets to create an impact 2) trust and partnerships with communities go a long way to address environmental and social issues 3) positive impact is not something that needs legislation or regulation or more money from private sector, but in fact it can be achieved by channeling the limited resources to the right people who have both will and willingness to create permanent solutions for the good of their generations. 🌳 What are we doing in terms of sustainability at our subsidiaries around the world? Through a joint initiative, WIKA Brazil employees planted 60 saplings with the support of the city council of Iperó.💚 This wonderful statement from one of the participant encapsulate the spirit of this special day: "Residents of Iperó planted trees in the past, in strategic places and I benefited from this act, this is another reason why I participated in the tree planting. Unlocking New Horizons: Moorlife Goes #FromLocalToGlobal! 🌏✨We're thrilled to announce our strategic move to expand into Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in our journey. Our export team recently engaged in a fruitful meeting with Mr. Deden Muhammad Fajar Shiddiq, the Trade Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, discussing exciting business opportunities.Taking place from February 14th to 18th, the meeting delved into the prospects of introducing Moorlife products to the Malaysian market. Our aspirations are high as we aim to strengthen the presence of Moorlife in Malaysia, providing a diverse range of products designed to enhance everyday living. The meeting also touched upon broader trade relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. The Indonesian Ministry of Trade has facilitated the opening of a dedicated store for Indonesian products in a prominent shopping center in Kuala Lumpur, highlighting the commitment to boosting exports.Indonesia's Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita, acknowledged the need for an increased focus on exports, considering Indonesia's lag behind neighboring countries like Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The challenge lies in enhancing trade agreements, an area where Indonesia has historically had fewer engagements. This strategic move aligns with the broader efforts to overcome trade challenges and tap into the vast potential of the Malaysian market. As we embark on this exciting journey, we're not just exporting products; we're fostering cultural exchange and creating opportunities that go beyond borders.Stay tuned for more updates on Moorlife's global journey 🌐Source:https://lnkd.in/gEhwPKEP https://lnkd.in/gQfn-mhW Empower Your Life, Choose Moorlife!—#Moorlife #Tancorp #Enterpreneurtips #Enterpreneurship #Businessidea #PlasticIndustry #Businesstips #BusinessIndonesia

🌙 Supporting Staff During Ramadan 🌙During Ramadan, managers play a vital role in creating an inclusive workplace environment, and supporting their staff during their celebration. Here's some ideas on how you can better support staff that are celebrating during this time:-Flexibility: Recognize that fasting during Ramadan may impact your team members' energy levels and productivity. Offer flexible working hours or the option to work remotely to accommodate their needs. If this is not an option, be mindful of the time they may need to take in order to observe this period as they need, and extend invitations to take time away to pray, or break fast where you can. -Awareness: Take the time to educate yourself and your team about the significance of Ramadan and its customs. Encourage open dialogue and create a culture of understanding and respect for different religious beliefs and practices.-Accommodation: Be mindful of scheduling meetings or events that involve food during fasting hours. Consider scheduling important meetings earlier in the day or after Iftar (the breaking of the fast) to ensure all team members can fully participate.-Support: Check in with your staff regularly to see how they're managing during Ramadan. Offer your support and reassurance, and be proactive in addressing any concerns or challenges they may be facing.-Celebration: Embrace the spirit of Ramadan by organizing inclusive activities or events for your team to participate in. Whether it's a virtual Iftar gathering, cultural awareness workshops, or charitable initiatives, creating opportunities for connection and celebration can help strengthen bonds within your team.Let's use this month to celebrate diversity and ensure every team member feels valued. Ramadan Kareem to all observing!#RamadanKareem #Inclusion #Support #WorkplaceUnity

Happy International Day of Happiness! For everyone in development, two of the ultimate end goals of our work should be happy people and a happy planet. For us lucky enough to work in Vanuatu, it is well known that Vanuatu scores very highly on the Happy Planet Index. This index aims to measure sustainable wellbeing, ranking countries by how efficiently they deliver long, happy lives using our limited environmental resources. Its index looks at life expectancy, wellbeing, and ecological footprint. Out of 152 countries, Vanuatu scored 20th on wellbeing, 46th of ecological footprint, and 105th on life expectancy. This was enough to put Vanuatu in second place overall! In 2022, PCL supported the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry to present on the state of environmental well-being). In particular PCL presented on the topic of adaptation finance and business resileince to both the in-person audience as well as those viewing via the online live stream and radio broadcast. We hope all of our followers are doing whatever makes them happy today!

Planning and taking action for long term SustainabilityDuring Covid lockdown many of us faced many challenges. For Murshidah and I we lost all our training and coaching for government, corporate and public programs indefinitely because we couldn't do physical programs anymore. We managed to overcome it with the right mindset, inner strength & resilience, learning new knowledge, collaborating with like minded people and etc.Despite the challenges there were also blessings. One of the blessings was we had a lot of time. So we spent most of it learning new things online. One of it was on sustainability and preparing for future crisis by government endorsed consultants in Singapore and Malaysia. They shared that because of the lockdown it can trigger a food crisis. Murshidah and I asked each other if another crisis happens are we going to just react and suffer all over again or are we going to be pro active and find solutions before it happens so we can cushion the impact. One of the solutions we came up with is to get land where we will grow our own food and have live stock. We spent a few months going all over Malaysia looking for land. As a result we were grateful to meet our partners now Founder DS Ashraf Bakar and team Aliyah Rizq Farm at Desaru to fulfill our mission. ALHAMDULILLAH (Praises To THE AL MIGHTY)This August 2nd to 4th we are organizing an Inner & Outer Sustainability retreat at Aliyah Rizq Farm, Desaru, Johor.* Participants will learn how to become physically, mentally, internally stronger and heal through horse riding & traditional archery.* Participants will also learn on basic farming and why it is important to prepare for future food crisis.* At the end of Retreat we will share agriculture project opportunities for those who want to have plan B or always dreamt of staying in a farm and country side.So come join our Retreat to a transformational and life changing experience. We look forward to see you then. Dm to know more and register by 22nd July to get special early bird price. Till then have a blessed and successful life."From Small Things, Big Things Grow"Love & Respect#sustainability #crisis #solutions #socialimpact #personalgrowth #horseriding #traditionalarchery #farming #agriculture #sunnah
