What is the passing score for English STAAR? ›

The scores mentioned in the red band is the failing scores in STAAR tests. The students need a minimum of 25% to 35% in order to pass the tests. Every year the students receive a report card that states how well or how poorly they did in their tests.

If a student fails the STAAR test, they may be required to undergo additional instruction and have opportunities to retake the test.

The STAAR English I test contains 64 questions and is timed at 5 hours. Some of the questions on the test are multiple-choice, but many of the questions fall under one of the following question types: Multiselect. Multipart.
